Hot weather will continue in Pasadena through the weekend, with daytime highs near 100 degrees and warm nights in the mid-60s, forecasters said Friday. The National Weather Service warned of elevated risks for heat illness as high pressure keeps the region dry and temperatures above normal.
Friday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high near 96 degrees. Winds will be light, shifting to a south-southwest breeze around 5 mph in the afternoon. Overnight lows will fall to about 67 degrees under mostly clear skies.
Saturday and Sunday are expected to remain hot, with highs near 96 to 97 degrees. Nights will be partly cloudy to mostly clear, with lows in the mid-60s. Winds will stay light, generally calm in the mornings and turning southwest around 5 mph later in the day.
Forecasters said the heat will persist into next week, with highs in the low to mid-90s through Thursday. Monday and Tuesday may bring slight relief, with highs dipping to 93 to 94 degrees, before climbing again to 95 degrees by Thursday. Overnight lows will remain steady near 65 degrees.
No rain is forecast for Pasadena, though isolated convection may develop over nearby mountains this weekend. The city itself is expected to stay dry under the influence of high pressure.
The National Weather Service cautioned that prolonged exposure to heat can increase the risk of illness. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors.
