Pasadena’s Human Services Commission will meet Wednesday to review its budget and appoint a parliamentarian for the new fiscal year.

The commission convenes at 6 p.m. at the Jackie Robinson Community Center on North Fair Oaks Avenue.

Chair Joshua Levine Grater will lead the appointment of a parliamentarian for fiscal year 2025-2026. The position helps ensure proper meeting procedures are followed.

Staff will present the 2025-2026 commission budget for review. Program Coordinator Tisha Washington, the commission’s Program Coordinator, will lead the budget presentation.

Commissioners will also discuss and vote on the commission work plan and presentation calendar for the upcoming fiscal year.

The meeting will include approval of minutes from May 14 and June 11 meetings.

Jorge Concul will be introduced as the new commission recording secretary. He replaces the previous recording secretary for the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department.

The commission currently has two vacant positions. One mayoral appointment and one District 6 representative seat remain unfilled.

The Human Services Commission advises the city council on human service needs for all ages in the community. The group meets monthly on the second Wednesday.

Public comment will be accepted during the meeting. Residents can also submit written correspondence to jconcul@cityofpasadena.net before the meeting starts.

The commission offers language translation services with 72-hour advance notice. Disability accommodations are also available with advance notice.

Meeting materials are available on the city website and at Pasadena Public Library branch libraries.
