Huntington Health ER Doctors Staff Three Expert Urgent Care Locations in Pasadena Area

Emergency physicians from Huntington Health now are on staff at three Exer Urgent Care locations in Pasadena and La Cañada Flintridge, giving residents an option to see hospital ER doctors for conditions that are serious but not life-threatening.

The collaboration, which Huntington Health describes as extending emergency medicine into the community, covers Exer clinics at 3160 East Del Mar Boulevard, 797 SouthFair Oaks Avenue in Pasadena, and 475 Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge.

All three locations are open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with last patient registration at 8:30 p.m.

“Here in Pasadena, we’re honored to work with Huntington Hospital’s expert medical teams,” Rob Mahan, CEO of Exer Urgent Care, said in a company statement. “We’re proud to staff Exer Pasadena with the same ER doctors who work in Huntington Hospital’s ER.”

The clinics offer on-site X-rays, lab work, pharmacy services, and IV treatment, according to Huntington Health’s website. Common conditions treated include coughs, colds, and flu; ear and eye infections; lacerations requiring stitches; fractures and sprains; and STD and STI testing.

Huntington Health, the 534-bed Pasadena hospital that became an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai in 2021, is home to the San Gabriel Valley’s only Level II Trauma Center. The hospital has served the community since 1892.

“Our collaboration with Exer locations in La Cañada Flintridge and Pasadena helps us expand our health and wellness services so our community receives the right care, in the right place, at the right time,” Dr. Lori J. Morgan, former president and CEO of Huntington Health, said in a statement.

Exer, which operates more than 60 clinics across Southern California, was founded in 2013. The company says its facilities are equipped to handle 80 percent of the cases typically seen in hospital emergency rooms.

Walk-in patients are welcome, and same-day and next-day appointments are available. The clinics accept most PPOs, most HMOs, and Medicare, and offer payment options for patients without insurance.
