
Huntington Health in Pasadena has been named one of the top hospitals in California and Los Angeles by U.S. News & World Report for 2024-2025.
The facility 10th in California and fifth in Los Angeles rankings, according to the prestigious annual hospital rankings released by the magaine on Tuesday.
Huntington Health earned received national recognition in gastroenterology and GI surgery, ranking 42nd nationally in this specialty.
The hospital was also designated as “high performing” in seven adult specialties, including cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, geriatrics, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology and lung surgery, and urology.
In addition to these specialties, Huntington Health excelled in 16 procedures and conditions, ranging from spinal fusion and heart failure to prostate cancer surgery and stroke treatment.
Overall, Huntington Health was recognized in 24 types of care, demonstrating its comprehensive excellence across multiple medical fields.

Morgan emphasized the hospital’s role as a healthcare leader in the San Gabriel Valley and credited the achievement to the skilled and compassionate care provided by nurses, physicians, and employees.
U.S. News & World Report evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions for this year’s rankings.
Only 11 percent of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals ranking.
Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News & World Report, underscored the importance of these rankings for patients seeking quality healthcare.
“For 35 years, U.S. News has been a leading resource for patients navigating their health care decisions,” he said.
The rankings are described as based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and level of nursing care. This year’s methodology incorporated new data on care provided to Medicare Advantage patients and outpatients, nearly doubling the number of patients included in the analysis.
The Procedures & Conditions ratings are based entirely on objective quality measures, further emphasizing the rigorous nature of the evaluation process.
