Huntington Hospital Launches New Name, Huntington Health

To more accurately reflect the broad scope of the health care services it provides to the community, and to represent its new affiliation with Cedars-Sinai, Huntington Hospital is introducing a new logo and name. The hospital, its physician group, and all of its outpatient programs and locations will now be under the umbrella of Huntington Health, an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai.

“We’re pleased to re-introduce ourselves as Huntington Health, an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai,” according to the hospital’s website.

In a letter to community supporters CEO Lori L. Morgan said the name reflects the growth of the organization.

“While the inpatient Huntington Hospital remains our flagship, Huntington Health best reflects our scope of services and the growing number of locations where we provide them,” Morgan said.  “Philanthropic giving has always played an important role in our ability to provide care at Huntington Hospital – and that will not change. As such, any charitable donations you make to our work will remain locally controlled to benefit our community and the patients we serve.”

Huntington Hospital has a new name.

Cedars-Sinai Health System was established in 2017 to provide a platform for high-quality healthcare institutions to collaborate and share resources and expertise. It currently comprises Cedars-Sinai (which includes Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital, as well as its network of physicians and medical offices throughout Southern California) and Torrance Memorial (which includes Torrance Memorial Medical Center and its network of physicians and medical offices throughout the South Bay).

The affiliation between Huntington and Cedars-Sinai Health System moved ahead in July after the organizations reached agreement with the Office of the California Attorney General.

The affiliation builds upon Huntington’s 128-year legacy, preserving its unique culture as a community institution governed by a local board with its own employees and medical staff. In addition, philanthropy and volunteer support will remain locally controlled and used for Huntington and its existing community.

“The affiliation includes commitments for continued investment in Huntington Hospital in enterprise information technology, growth of ambulatory services and physician development. It will also enable collaborations with the other entities in the Cedars-Sinai Health System to ensure access to high-quality, accessible and affordable care throughout the region,” according to a statement released last year.

The agreement with the California Attorney General’s office reflects shared goals of keeping healthcare affordable while expanding community access. The Huntington affiliation enhances the ability of all the entities in the Cedars-Sinai Health System to better meet the needs of their communities.
