A new platform for scaling radiopharmaceutical development could revolutionize cancer treatment, according to an upcoming presentation at Innovate Pasadena’s Friday Coffee Meetup.
Clincy Cheung, CEO of DropletPharma, will speak on “Scaling Overlooked Infrastructure for the Next Generation of Cancer Care” on August 2, 2024, at FoundrSpace Pasadena.
The event comes as the radiopharmaceutical industry faces significant challenges in supply chain management and high development costs, despite recent breakthroughs like Lutathera and Pluvicto for neuroendocrine and prostate cancers.
DropletPharma’s platform aims to support pharmaceutical companies in scaling their radiopharmaceutical pipelines and establishing robust supply chains for clinical trials and distribution.
“This presentation should be of interest to anyone working or looking to work in cancer research, cancer care, or the pharmaceutical industry,” said Rob McClinton, Board President of Innovate Pasadena.
McClinton added, “This is more than a presentation about medtech. It’s a demonstration of innovation in action for all of our benefit.”
The talk will address the growing need for scalable cancer treatments, as U.S. cancer diagnoses are projected to reach 2.2 million annually by 2050.
Cheung, who holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from UCLA, leads business strategy in collaboration with his co-founders at DropletPharma.
The Friday Coffee Meetup, a monthly event organized by Innovate Pasadena, provides a platform for entrepreneurs, technologists, and creatives to connect and learn.
The August 2 event will begin at 8:00 a.m. with informal networking, followed by Cheung’s presentation at 8:30 a.m. and a Q&A session moderated by Holly Bowyer of Media & Marketing Minds.
The event will conclude with a meet-the-speaker session and additional networking until 10:00 a.m.
