Pasadena Mayor Victor M. Gordo is leading the city’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 1, starting at 5 p.m. at City Hall.
The traditional event will feature local singers and dancers, children’s crafts by the Armory Center for the Arts, refreshments, and a special appearance by Santa Claus. Photo shops will be located throughout the event venue for participants to capture the magic of the season.
Mayor Gordo will light the City’s official tree promptly at 6 p.m. Attendees are advised to arrive early for convenient parking and a prime viewing spot at City Hall.
The Pasadena Fire Department will be collecting donations for the annual Spark of Love Toy Drive, which aims to create cherished holiday memories for local underserved children and teens. Attendees are encouraged to contribute new, unwrapped toys, sports equipment, and gift cards.
Local youth groups are performing to enrich the night’s entertainment.
If you’re unable to attend in person, you can watch the ceremony video later through Charter Spectrum Channel 3 or via www.pasadenamedia.org and its YouTube channel, www.Youtube.com/
Participants are also encouraged to share their best tree-lighting and Santa photos on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
