Kiddie Academy of Pasadena has officially earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nation’s most respected mark of excellence in early childhood education. Fewer than 10% of early childhood programs nationwide hold this distinction, which affirms the Academy’s commitment to high standards of curriculum, safety, relationships, and family engagement.

The journey to accreditation hasn’t been simple.

Kiddie Academy of Pasadena first opened in February 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic shuttered schools and strained the childcare industry. In the years that followed, the center weathered teacher shortages, public health setbacks, a flood, nearby structure fires, and the shifting landscape of universal preschool.

“We have definitely faced our share of challenges. But through it all, our team stayed strong and committed to what families want most—responsible, loving, and inspiring educators who help every child grow at their own pace,” said Christine Jennings, Center Director.

Through resilience and innovation, Kiddie Academy of Pasadena has built a thriving environment for infants, toddlers, and young preschoolers. Its outdoor classrooms feature gardens, a mud kitchen, and imaginative play areas, while indoor spaces are designed to feel playful yet purposeful. Teachers intentionally guide children’s experiences so that everyday curiosity becomes the foundation for lifelong learning.

“Kiddie Academy feels like a magical place for children,” said Jennifer Moore, co-owner. “They arrive full of excitement, and while it may look like play, our educators are intentionally crafting environments that inspire creativity and deepen learning.”

Kiddie Academy of Pasadena also invests in its community by hosting free family events such as Storytime LIVE, Lunar New Year celebrations, and STEM Adventures, welcoming families from across Pasadena and partners like Door of Hope.

Jennings added, “This accreditation shows the community what our families already know: Kiddie Academy is a best-in-class place for early learning.”

Kiddie Academy of Pasadena is part of a nationwide network of early learning centers committed to life-long learning. Serving children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, the Academy blends academics with social-emotional development in a safe, nurturing setting.
