Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena will host a new all-church New Year’s Eve Family Celebration on Tuesday, combining spiritual reflection with community festivities to close out 2024. The event, taking place at the church’s Worship Center and Main Plaza at 393 N. Lake Ave., will be hosted by Congregational Life Ministries to bring together the LAC Family, neighbors, and friends.
“Come celebrate the New Year with the entire LAC Family as we close out 2024 and usher in the new year with something new—an all-church New Year’s Eve Concert & Block Party hosted by our Congregational Life Ministries,” the church announced.
The evening will begin with a gathered time of music, worship, and prayer in the Worship Center for spiritual reflection, followed by fellowship, food, and festivities on the plaza. The celebration includes a potluck competition judged by staff and volunteers, leading up to a simulcast of the New Year’s Eve ball drop in Times Square, New York.
The event offers multiple benefits to the community, serving as an affordable, family-friendly gathering in a safe and inclusive environment. As a significant institution in Pasadena, Lake Avenue Church continues its tradition of community engagement through this local celebration alternative.
Pastor Nick Barrett is coordinating the event and can be reached at nye@lakeave.org or (626) 817-4801. Community members interested in participating can register online at lakeave.org/nye to help serve or contribute dishes to the potluck competition. The church seeks volunteers to assist before, during, and after the event.
