League of Women Voters Pasadena Area Announces Candidate Forums for November 3 Election

The League of Women Voters Pasadena Area has announced seven candidate forums for the November 3 election, including one for Pasadena Unified School District candidates on Monday, October 5, at district headquarters.

The League describes the forums as nonpartisan events where the public can learn about local elections and candidates, and says it is continuing its tradition of hosting them.

The Pasadena Unified forum is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Board Room 236 at 351 S. Hudson Ave. Its co-sponsors are PEN, the Pasadena PTA Council, Voces Unidas and CAC, according to the League.

A forum for Trustee District 3 is scheduled for Monday, October 19, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Drive. The League lists the Altadena Public Library District as its co-sponsor.

The League’s other forums cover the Alhambra City Council on Thursday, October 1; the La Cañada Unified School District Governing Board on Tuesday, October 6; the Monrovia City Council and school board on Monday, October 12; and the San Gabriel City Council on Thursday, October 15. The date of a forum for the Duarte City Council and a school board seat is to be determined, according to the League.

• Monday, October 5, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Pasadena Unified School District. Board Room 236, PUSD headquarters, 351 S. Hudson Ave. Co-sponsors: PEN, Pasadena PTA Council, Voces Unidas and CAC.
• Tuesday, October 6, 6 to 8 p.m. La Cañada Unified School District Governing Board, three seats. La Cañada High School auditorium. Co-sponsor: La Cañada PTSA.
• Monday, October 12, 6 to 8:45 p.m., with a break from 7:30 to 7:45 p.m. Monrovia City Council, at large, and school board. Monrovia council hearing room. Co-sponsor: Monrovia Chamber of Commerce.
• Thursday, October 15, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. San Gabriel City Council, three at-large seats. Padilla Room, 324 S. Mission Drive. Co-sponsor: San Gabriel Women’s Foundation.
• Monday, October 19, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Trustee District 3. Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Drive. Co-sponsor: Altadena Public Library District.
