Local Visionary Addresses the Climate and Fast-Paced Change at Rotary Club’s Open-to-the-Public Meeting

Greg Apodaca, CEO of Pasadena-based Community 2.0, will address climate change and the fast pace of change in the world at the Rotary Club of Pasadena’s meeting on Wednesday. The meeting is open to the public.

Apodaca’s presentation, entitled “It’s A Remarkable Time to Be Alive,” is expected to challenge and inspire the audience as he talks about his vision of the unprecedented opportunities that lie ahead for humanity. 

He will discuss the existential challenge of what he descriobes as “the climate emergency” and why everyone needs to be part of the solution.

Community 2.0 is a social enterprise that works to find solutions for global challenges. Apodaca serves as the company’s CEO, Vision Holder, and Chief Explorer. 

On his website, he describes Community 2.0 as a group mobilizing individuals and organizations in Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area to take action to overcome climate emergency challenges.

“Together we leverage resources to achieve UN goals to restore the environment, mitigate global warming, and create a community culture, living in balance with nature and each other,” the description reads.

The Rotary Club meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 9, will be held at Altadena Town and Country Club, located at 2290 Country Club Drive. It starts at 12 noon. The cost is $40 for lunch.

Complimentary parking is available although limited. 

A reservation is required to attend the meeting. The deadline is 11 a.m. Monday, August 7.
