In December, Justin Jones was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the death of John J. Kennedy.

Jones has pulled papers for reappointment.
Jones was selected by the Council over Brandon Lamar and Lucious Smith for the seat.
The City Charter mandates the City Council appoint someone within 75 days after the vacancy is created.

Miranda is attempting to fill that vacancy.
