Man Allegedly Assaults Friend With A Shovel

A 56-year-old Pasadena man is in custody for allegedly hitting a friend with a shovel during an argument, police said.

Juan Flores and the victim, another male with whom he was reportedly friends, were drinking alcohol Sunday afternoon when they started to argue, said Pasadena Police Department Lt. Bruce George in a telephone interview. The argument happened around 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 800 block of North Orange Grove Boulevard.

Flores allegedly hit his friend in the face with a shovel, leading to his arrest on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, George said.
