A 51-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested Monday evening after threatening a family member with a pocket knife during a domestic dispute in the 1300 block of Glen Avenue, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Monica Cuellar.
The incident was reported at approximately 7:20 p.m. on July 28, Cuellar said. Officers responded to a call about a family disturbance involving a suspect later identified as Carlos Cortez. The altercation reportedly stemmed from a family disagreement, during which Cortez allegedly brandished a pocket knife and threatened to stab the victim.
Cuellar said the victim, a man in his 30s from Pasadena, attempted to restrain Cortez to prevent injury. A physical fight ensued, resulting in minor lacerations to the victim’s left hand. He was treated at the scene for his injuries.
Cuellar confirmed the suspect did not resist arrest and was taken into custody without incident.
