A 32-year-old Pasadena man was arrested Thursday afternoon following a report of mail theft in the 60 block of South San Gabriel Boulevard, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Andrea Perez.
Officers responded to the scene at 2:27 p.m. after receiving a call about a mail theft that had just occurred, Lt. Perez said.
Upon arrival, they located and detained the suspect, identified as Vincent De Le Cruz, without incident, Perez said
During the subsequent investigation, officers allegedly discovered a loaded handgun and an unspecified controlled substance on Cruz’s person, Perez said. The suspect was also reportedly found to have an outstanding warrant and was on active probation at the time of his arrest.
Perez said that Cruz was taken into custody and transported to the Pasadena Police Department for booking. No injuries were reported during the arrest.
