A 41-year-old Rosemead man apparently died by suicide in Pasadena’s Eaton Canyon Park early on Tuesday, police said.
The man, who reportedly suffered from depression and had attempted suicide at the park last year, reportedly hanged himself from a tree on the Henninger Trail, authorities said.
Family members reportedly discovered his body around 6:50 a.m. after finding a suicide note at his home, according to Pasadena Police Lt. Edgar Sanchez.
Deputies from the LA County Sheriff’s Altadena station and personnel from the Pasadena Fire Department responded to the family’s call.
Sanchez said the victim showed no signs of life when authorities arrived. Pasadena paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The LA County Coroner also responded and found no indications of foul play according to Sanchez.
Authorities did not release the man’s name.
Pasadena police detectives are conducting a follow-up investigation of the incident since it occurred within City jurisdiction.
