Pasadena’s Measure PFD, a city measure on 911 firefighter and paramedic emergency medical service and wildfire preparedness and response, is falling just short of the two-thirds vote it needs to pass, according to the first batch of results released by the Los Angeles County Registrar.

The early count shows 18,275 votes, or 66.01%, in favor of the measure and 9,409 votes, or 33.99%, against it in Pasadena’s regular municipal election.

The measure requires approval by two-thirds of votes cast. Two-thirds of the 27,684 votes counted in the first batch is 18,456, which leaves supporters 181 votes short of the threshold at this stage of the count.

The figures reflect only the first batch of results released by the Registrar.
