A regional rapid-bus line that will run through the core of Pasadena is set to be the focus of a progress update when the Municipal Services Committee meets Sept. 22. All four of the project’s Pasadena stations now under active construction.
Metro’s North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit project is designed to provide faster, more dependable service linking North Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale, Eagle Rock and Pasadena. The 19-mile route will combine mixed-flow and dedicated bus lanes with all-door boarding and upgraded stations.
The project will operate 20 stations along its full length, four of them within Pasadena: at Holly Street and Arroyo Parkway; Colorado Boulevard and Los Robles Avenue; Colorado Boulevard and Lake Avenue; and on Hill Street between Colorado Boulevard and Green Street.
Three of the four Pasadena stations sit on or beside Colorado Boulevard, with the fourth at Holly Street and Arroyo Parkway.
Construction in Pasadena began in spring 2026, and all four Pasadena station areas are currently in various stages of being built. Completion of the Pasadena station work is anticipated in November 2026.
For residents and businesses along the Colorado Boulevard and Lake Avenue corridors, the project would deliver the faster, more dependable service Metro has set as its goal, with dedicated lanes and all-door boarding intended to improve travel times and reliability between Pasadena and communities including Eagle Rock, Glendale, Burbank and North Hollywood once service begins.
Metro staff will present the update to keep the committee informed of ongoing progress within the city.
The Municipal Services Committee is an advisory arm of the Pasadena City Council and holds no independent power to approve or halt the project; it is scheduled to receive the update for information only. Metro is building the line, and any related city decisions would ultimately rest with the City Council, which retains final authority.
The Municipal Services Committee is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, in the Council Chamber, Room S249, at Pasadena City Hall, 100 North Garfield Avenue, in Pasadena.
