Midweek Heat Wave to Push Pasadena Temperatures Toward Triple Digits

Published on Monday, August 4, 2025 | 5:02 am

A major heat surge will grip Pasadena midweek, with temperatures expected to reach the upper 90s, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters have backed off an earlier forecast that originally pegged Thursday into the triple digits.

Forecasts show Wednesday and Thursday will bring highs between 95 and 97 degrees, roughly 10 degrees above normal. The heat wave is driven by a strengthening upper high and limited marine layer cooling.

Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 88. Winds will become southwest at 5 to 10 mph by afternoon. Overnight temperatures will drop to about 62 under partly cloudy skies.

Tuesday brings more sunshine and a high near 90. Temperatures will continue to rise on Wednesday, with sunny conditions and a high near 95. Thursday’s forecast calls for a peak high of 97 degrees.

The warm spell may trigger heat advisories in parts of Los Angeles County, forecasters said. No precipitation is expected through the week.

Winds will stay moderate, generally light in the morning and reaching up to 10 mph in the afternoon. Strong gusts up to 45 mph will affect Santa Barbara County through Monday night, but Pasadena is not under advisory.

Weekend temperatures will ease slightly, reaching 91 on Saturday and 93 on Sunday. Skies will remain sunny and clear, with overnight lows in the mid-60s.

No major weather warnings have been issued for Pasadena as of Monday morning. Officials noted that low cloud development will be limited by reduced marine layer activity through Tuesday.

The heat wave is expected to continue into next week with temperatures in the low-to-mid 90s. Residents are advised to monitor official updates and prepare for extended warm conditions.
