Young & Healthy, a nonprofit organization in Pasadena, announced the return of its Mobile Dental Clinic, offering free dental care to children without insurance or access to pediatric dentists.
The week-long clinic, on Oct. 17-25 at Madison Elementary School, located at 515 Ashtabula Street in Pasadena, will provide services to children aged 5 to 18 from families in the greater Pasadena area.
In partnership with the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, the clinic will offer a range of dental services, including diagnostic X-rays, preventative treatments, and restorative procedures.
Services include cleanings, sealants, fillings, pulpotomies, and surgical procedures such as root planing, extractions, and root removals.
“As we celebrate our 35th anniversary, we are proud to highlight the Mobile Dental Clinic as one of our most impactful programs,” said Ellen Kramer, Executive Director of Young & Healthy.
The organization has been providing free dental care to underserved children in the Pasadena area for 30 years, addressing barriers to access such as cost and lack of coverage.
Young & Healthy has recently increased the frequency of these clinics from once to twice per year, reflecting the growing need for accessible dental care in the community.
Last year, the Mobile Dental Clinic treated 176 patients and performed nearly 3,500 procedures, demonstrating its substantial impact on local children’s health.
“Our goal is simple: to ensure that children in Pasadena can grow up healthy and flourish. The Mobile Dental Clinic is key to achieving that goal,” Kramer said.
Families interested in the free dental services must register in advance, as space is limited and walk-in appointments are not available. To determine eligibility and schedule an appointment, parents can contact Young & Healthy at (626) 795-5166, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
