More Heat on Tap for Pasadena, Extending into Next Week

Another round of hot weather is expected in the Southland beginning this week and continuing into next week.

“A significant heat wave will impact Southern California through at least this weekend,” according to the National Weather Service. “A large portion of the mountains, foothills, and valleys away from the coast will experience dangerously hot conditions, and very warm conditions may extend toward the coast. … Monsoonal moisture will potentially bring thunderstorms to the interior mountains and valleys over the weekend.”

“Saturday will bring the highest (10-20%) chance of showers in the short-term as monsoonal moisture aloft may have the potential to bring isolated showers and thunderstorms to the San Gabriels,” according to the NWS. “Onshore flow could help bring the temperatures down a little, but it will not be a permanent reprieve from the heat.”

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Light south southeast wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light south in the evening.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 94. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast after midnight.

Saturday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 96. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 66.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 95.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 65.
