More than 2.1 million ballots have been processed and counted so far in the Nov. 3 general election in Los Angeles County, representing 36.34% voter turnout, according to semi-final results announced by Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean C. Logan early Wednesday.
A total of 2,147,243 ballots have been counted so far.
The semi-final results are preliminary and will change as additional eligible ballots are received, processed and counted during the official canvass, according to the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office.
The next results update is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4.
Following that update, the office will publish a preliminary estimate of outstanding ballots remaining to be processed and counted.
The office will continue 24-hour ballot processing through Friday, Nov. 6, with employees working day and night shifts to receive, verify, process and count ballots.
Multiple results updates will be published daily throughout the week. The full schedule of upcoming updates is available in the office’s Canvass Update Schedule. Additional updates will continue throughout the official canvass until the election is certified.
Ballot processing operations remain open to media and public observation. Media representatives and observers should enter through the public entrance and check in with Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk staff, who will verify credentials as applicable and direct visitors to designated media and observation areas.
