The Mexican Men’s National Team will face Australia at 7:00 p.m. in what organizers describe as Mexico’s final appearance in the United States before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which begins June 11. The match anchors a multi-day sendoff series at the Pasadena stadium running May 28 to 30 that also includes an open training session, a fan day, a concert by Mexican-American singer-songwriter Xavi, an AT&T Futbol Fiesta, and a halftime performance by EDM producer Deorro. Select seats for the match and surrounding events remain available through SomosLocales.com, according to the release.
The kickoff time was moved from the originally scheduled 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. earlier this week, according to a separate MexTour news release issued Monday.
A near-capacity crowd is expected at the Rose Bowl Stadium for the match, according to the press release. The stadium, owned by the City of Pasadena and operated by the Rose Bowl Operating Company, has an all-seated capacity of 89,702. MexTour organizers encouraged fans to purchase tickets early for the match and for the surrounding fan events.
The sendoff series begins with a MexTour Media Day on Thursday, May 28. On Friday, May 29, the Mexico Open Training and VIP Fan Day begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Xavi MexTour Live Concert, presented by Gillette, at the stadium’s Court of Champions at 8:00 p.m. Open Training tickets start at $10, and a combo package that includes the training and the Xavi concert is available for $30, according to the release.
On Saturday, May 30, the AT&T Futbol Fiesta runs from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. ahead of the 7:00 p.m. kickoff, followed by Deorro’s halftime performance.
Xavi, whose full name is Joshua Xavier Gutiérrez, is a Mexican-American singer-songwriter from Arizona. His single “La Diabla” topped Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart in 2024.
Deorro, born Erick Orrosquieta in West Covina, California, is a Mexican-American DJ and producer. He received his first Latin Grammy nomination in 2024 for Best Latin Electronic Music Performance. He will perform the official 2026 MexTour anthem, “La Bandera (Remix)” featuring Santa Fe Klan, at halftime, according to the release.
The Rose Bowl Stadium, a National Historic Landmark in the Arroyo Seco, has a long association with Mexican national team matches. The 2026 FIFA World Cup, the first to be expanded to 48 teams, is co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The Rose Bowl was not selected as a 2026 World Cup match venue; FIFA selected SoFi Stadium in Inglewood as the area’s host site.
Media assets including photos and videos are available through the MexTour media dropbox, according to the release. Media inquiries may be directed to Meredith Thomas, Senior Director of Communications at the Rose Bowl Stadium, at (626) 577-3106 or mthomas@rosebowlstadium.com.
The World Cup begins June 11.
