Say goodbye to Hamburger Hamlet. The iconic location on Lake Avenue will officially close its doors on Friday, January 3. The closing leaves Hamburger Hamlet with only one store remaining in Sherman Oaks.

The restaurant will re-open Saturday morning, January 4, flying the Du-Pars banner.

According to manager Guillermo Mireles, the new owner is Biff Naylor, whose family also owned the former Tiny Naylor’s chain of diners.

The entire Hamburger Hamlet team will be retained, said Mireles. “We didn’t lose a single one,” he told Pasadena Now. “The entire team stays, both the front and back of the house.”

“I feel great,” added Mireles. “I am happy to stay here. (Naylor) is great and very good with customers.”

The Hamlet team is currently undergoing training, and a crew from Du-Pars will be joining the Pasadena team to help with the transition.

There might be a few physical changes, but the restaurant will be essentially the same, according to Mireles. “We’ll even have the same phone number,” he said.

“When people drive by, they will just see the Du-Par’s banner.”

The new Du-Par’s will be at 214 S Lake Ave, Pasadena. (626) 449-8520
