The Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs has launched the LA County Household Relief Grant program to support victims of the Eaton and Palisades fires. The initiative will distribute $32.2 million in financial assistance to wildfire survivors, providing critical support for housing costs, living expenses, and funeral expenses.
The online application will open on February 26 and close March 12, 2025. Eligible households can receive up to $18,000, with grant amounts determined by household size and composition. The program prioritizes assistance to the most vulnerable survivors, considering factors including insurance status, social and economic vulnerability, loss of life, health conditions, and other risk factors.
In addition to the Household Relief Grant, the Department of Economic Opportunity has announced two complementary fire relief funds available through February 24, at 5 p.m.:
- The Small Businesses/Nonprofits Fund supports entities that incurred structural loss, structural damage, equipment/inventory loss, or revenue loss because of the disaster
- The Workers Fund assists individuals who lost employment or income due to the disaster, including those who worked in fire-impacted areas but live elsewhere
