Lieutenant Derek Locklin said the incident occurred at about 4:52 a.m. at a business located in the 3200 block of East Foothill Boulevard. Officers responded to the scene after receiving a report of subjects attempting to break into the business with crowbars.
Upon arrival, officers saw a dark-colored BMW SUV with no headlights exiting the parking lot and driving south on Sierra Madre Villa Avenue. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it entered the westbound 210 Freeway and fled at a high rate of speed. The pursuit was eventually called off due to the high speeds, according to Locklin.
Officers returned to the business and found that the front entry doors had been broken, but it was confirmed through video footage that the suspects did not actually enter the building. They were only able to break the doors, Locklin said.
The suspects are described as three males all wearing dark clothing and hoodies. Their descriptions are very vague.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4501.
