Old Pasadena’s Parking Commission Takes Up Loading Zones and Streetscape Plans July 16

Loading zones and streetscape projects are on the table Thursday, July 16, when the Old Pasadena Parking Meter Zone Advisory Commission holds its regular meeting at Pasadena City Hall.

The commission is set to consider its annual report and workplan, its bylaws, loading zones, and streetscapes projects under new business.

As a strictly advisory body, the commission has no independent authority to enact policy. Any positions it takes on these district matters would be recommendations only, with final authority over parking-meter zone policy resting with the Pasadena City Council. The commission does, however, elect its own officers and adopt its own bylaws internally, and it is scheduled to elect a chair and vice chair at the same meeting.

The agenda also lists several information items, including a Pasadena Police Department update, financial reports, meter plant and statistics, parking enforcement, and current commission vacancies.

The commission currently has three vacant representative seats. It is chaired by Debbie Meymarian, with Steve Mulheim serving as vice chair.
