Registration for the first LA28 Olympic Ticket Draw closes at 11:59:59 p.m. PDT Wednesday, March 18, the deadline for fans to register for the first lottery draw that will determine access to five soccer matches at Rose Bowl Stadium, including both gold medal finals.

More than 5 million fans from 194 countries have registered since the draw opened January 14, according to LA28. Those with Los Angeles County billing addresses — including Pasadena residents — qualify for both the general draw and the LA & OKC Locals Presale running April 2–6, providing two purchasing windows. The Locals Presale is also available to residents of Orange, Riverside, Ventura, and San Bernardino counties in California and three counties in Oklahoma, according to LA28’s ticketing terms.

Rose Bowl Stadium will host a women’s quarterfinal on July 21, 2028, men’s and women’s semifinals on July 24–25, and men’s and women’s gold medal matches on July 28–29, according to a schedule confirmed Sunday by LA28 and the International Olympic Committee. The soccer tournament begins July 10, four days before the Opening Ceremony.

Registration is free at tickets.la28.org. Tickets start at $28, with at least one million at that price and a third of 14 million total tickets priced under $100, according to LA28. Fans selected for the first drop can purchase up to 12 tickets for Olympic events, according to the LA28 press release.

The draw is random. Registrants selected will be notified by email between March 31 and April 7, according to LA28’s ticketing page. Those not selected will automatically enter future draws, including a Paralympic draw in 2027.

“Pasadena is proud to be a Venue City supporting the Host City of Los Angeles for the 2028 Games and we look forward to welcoming the world to the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium,” Pasadena Mayor Victor M. Gordo said in a March 2025 city press release announcing the Games agreement.

The venue hosted track cycling in 1932 and Olympic soccer in 1984, when 101,799 spectators watched the gold medal match between France and Brazil, according to the City of Pasadena. In 2028, it will become only the second venue worldwide — alongside the LA Memorial Coliseum — to host events in three separate Olympic Games, according to LA28.

“In 2028, the Rose Bowl will support its third Olympic Games, making history as only the second venue in the world with this distinction,” LA28 Chief Executive Officer Reynold Hoover said in the city’s press release.

For the first time in Olympic history, more women’s soccer teams (16) than men’s (12) will compete, according to LA28. The tournament marks the return of women’s Olympic soccer to the United States for the first time since the inaugural 1996 Atlanta Games, according to LA28.

“The economic impact from hosting the Games at the Rose Bowl Stadium will be substantial to the City, the Rose Bowl, and the local and regional community,” Michael Ross, CEO of the Pasadena Center Operating Company, said in the city’s press release.

Selected registrants will purchase tickets through a platform powered by AXS and EVENTIM, with Visa as the official payment method, according to LA28. Drop 1 runs April 9–19.
