A 26-year-old man was killed and a 17-year-old young man was shot in the foot in a shooting Monday evening near Robinson Recreation Park in Pasadena.
Early Tuesday, police identified the man who died as Cecilio Hernandez Ramirez Jr, a Pasadena resident.
Police said the motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
Pasadena Police Department officers received a ShotSpotter automated alert and 911 calls at 7:46 p.m. to Morton Avenue and West Hammond Street where they found the victims, police reported.
Both men were taken to a hospital, where one was pronounced dead. The condition of the second victim was not known.
Detectives were seen examining the outside of an apartment complex and its parking lot in video from the scene.
Pasadena Police Department Lt. Derek Locklin said detectives will be at the scene for several hours and it was unknown if the victims were related.
“It’s still really early in the investigation and we’re still gathering evidence at the scene,” Locklin told City News Service.
