The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce will commemorate its organizational birthday with its first Spring Soiree at the beautifully remodeled Pasadena Elk’s Lodge on April 4th. The evening celebration will honor both the Chamber’s history dating back to 1888 and recognize unsung heroes who assisted with relief efforts during the recent Eaton/Altadena Fire.

“Everyone is welcome at the celebration of our Chamber birthday as we honor a few of our long-standing members with drinks, food, music and games in the historic Pasadena Elks Lodge,” said Katelyn Barchowsky of Storied Lane Marketing, current Chair of the Pasadena Chamber Board of Directors. “With the recent fires, we also wanted to honor a few of our members who really stepped up during the disaster to help our neighbors.”

The event will run from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the lodge, located at 400 West Colorado Boulevard. Festivities include a hosted cocktail reception featuring live music from Art Deco Entertainment, followed by a poker tournament offering gift card prizes of $500, $250, and $100 for top finishers.

Alternative activities for non-poker players include champagne pong, a liquor toss, and other games. The evening will feature a brief program honoring Chamber members who contributed to fire relief efforts.

“We wanted to bring everyone together to do something fun to celebrate the Chamber’s birthday,” Barchowsky said. “This event combines a brief recognition program with a really great night of music, games, and camaraderie.”

The Chamber traces its roots to March 1888, when the Pasadena Board of Trade was organized and incorporated. In March 1919, the organization re-incorporated as the Chamber of Commerce and Civic Association of Pasadena. Since the earliest days of Pasadena, the Chamber has played a major role in the development of this internationally renowned city.

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and Civic Association is a professional business organization. Its primary purpose has been the enhancement of the economy, business climate and the quality of life in Pasadena.

Tickets cost $150 per person for general admission to the cocktail reception, while poker players pay $200 for table seats. Corporate sponsorships are available at $1,500 and $3,000 levels, which include hosting an honored guest and seats at the poker tables or other game participation.

BYD/RIDE sponsors the live entertainment provided by Art Deco Entertainment, while Coldwell Banker Commercial sponsors the bar. Other sponsors include Crown Castle, the Langham Huntington Pasadena, TeamLogic IT of Pasadena, and UCLA Health.

“Everyone 21 and over is invited to join the fun as we celebrate the Chamber, its members and our collective contributions to our community,” said Pasadena Chamber President and CEO Paul Little. “You certainly do not have to be a member to appreciate or benefit from the work the Chamber and the Board of Trade have done to build, support and promote our community. Nor do you have to be a member to come out for an evening of fun and games.”

The Chamber is an energetic advocate for its 1,250 members and actively supports them in their prosperity. It has supported and raised funds for civic infrastructure projects including the Colorado Street Bridge, Pasadena City Hall, and the Civic Center.
