The event runs from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the church’s quad lawn at 132 N. Euclid Ave., directly across from Pasadena City Hall. Attendees may bring pets, photos of pets or stuffed animals to receive a blessing. All are welcome.
Pets will process through the church at the start of the 10 a.m. service, followed by an outdoor worship and blessing ceremony. Those wishing to join the procession should arrive by 9:45 a.m.
“It is a festive morning, blessing all the pets that take such good care of their humans,” organizers said in the release.
Founded in 1883, All Saints Church is the first Episcopal parish in Pasadena. The current church building was constructed in 1923–1924. The church strives to be a place where one can learn and practice the deep truth of the interconnectivity of the whole human family. Its legacy includes leadership in the 1970s anti-war movement, the anti-apartheid movement in the 1990s, the battle for the ordination of women, and the struggle for LGBTQ+ rights and marriage equity in both the church and civic arena.
