Pasadena City College will host its annual open house on Saturday, May 30, offering new students and their families an opportunity to visit the main campus, learn about programs offered, and receive help with enrolling and financial aid.

“We’re excited to welcome students and show them all PCC has to offer,” said Angie Alvarez, director of Outreach and Guided Entry Services at PCC. “Open House is an excellent way for new students to meet the PCC family and take the next step on the road to becoming a college student.”

First Year Experience Open House is open to all new students, regardless of their age or major. Throughout the day, academic counselors and coaches will be available to help with educational planning, choosing a major, and enrollment. Open House will also feature a resource fair with representatives from campus centers, empowerment programs, and other groups. Meals will be provided.

“Transitioning from high school to college doesn’t have to be intimidating and overwhelming,” said PCC President José A. Gómez. “It’s an important milestone for students and their families, and we want it to be an enjoyable experience. Our First Year Experience Open House is one of the ways we help students start strong.”

Families and friends of new students are welcome to attend in support of their student. Workshops for parents will be offered. Last year, Open House at PCC drew about 2,000 students and their families to campus. To learn more please visit the First Year Experience Open House website.
