The Pasadena City Council will convene a special emergency session on Monday to address the aftermath of windstorms and fires that struck the city last week.
The 4:00 p.m. meeting, to be held entirely by teleconference, will first consider authorizing remote proceedings under the Brown Act before addressing the local emergency.
Councilmembers will vote on whether to ratify City Manager Miguel Márquez’s January 8 Declaration of Local Emergency for windstorms and fires, enabling faster access to emergency resources.
The City Manager and Emergency Operations Staff will brief the Council on response efforts, followed by consideration of a $754,733 contract for critical technology infrastructure.
The emergency meeting comes as officials grapple with storm impacts. A scheduled hearing on Fuller Theological Seminary’s Master Plan Amendment has been postponed to February 3.
Public participation will be virtual, with Spanish translation available. Residents can join via Zoom or by calling 1-669-900-6833 with Meeting ID: 161 482 446.
The Council will also consider several commission appointments and review multiple damage claims against the city, including several exceeding $35,000.
