Pasadena Community Foundation announced its second deployment of Eaton Fire Relief & Recovery Fund grants to 18 nonprofit and church organizations in Altadena and Pasadena. The combined funding totals $450,000 and constitutes PCF’s second distribution from the Eaton Fire Fund, which was created January 8.

Since that date, the fund has raised $12 million, and PCF has disbursed nearly $1 million in aid to 38 nonprofits in Altadena and Pasadena.

These grants aim to provide immediate assistance, including cash aid, food, shelter, emergency childcare, and medical care, to residents affected by the recent Eaton Fire.

As nonprofits shore up their capacities following the fire and grapple with losses themselves, they are nonetheless on the front lines of fire relief with the help of PCF’s funding, organizing supply drives, providing rent assistance and grocery cards, providing FEMA and insurance application assistance, and so much more.

In turn, they are letting PCF know what they are seeing, hearing, and experiencing.

PCF Director of Community Impact Jeannine Bogaard notes:

“This second round of PCF’s fire relief funding derives from our broad and deep engagement the community over the last month. PCF board and staff members have had constant conversations with impacted community members while also attending numerous meetings and community gatherings to stay informed of evolving needs. We are grateful to learn from the incredible ‘on-the-ground’ work taking place. PCF’s close relationships with civic, community, and nonprofit leaders will continue to inform subsequent funding in the months to come.”

The second round of funding had a special emphasis on organizations serving older adults, knowing that they face unique challenges in the aftermath of the disaster. The following six organizations received fire relief funding.

  • Convalescent Aid Society
  • Huntington Hospital – Senior Care Network
  • Pasadena Village
  • Pacific Clinics
  • Pasadena Senior Center
  • Pasadena Meals on Wheels

The following 12 organizations received funding to address the urgent needs of fire survivors:
