
A local credit union will teach older adults how to protect themselves from fraud at a free community workshop on Thursday, Oct. 16.
E-Central Credit Union will present tips on detecting and preventing financial scams at 2 p.m. at Washington Park Community House, 700 E. Washington Blvd.
Based in Pasadena, E-Central Credit Union serves Southern California members throughout Los Angeles County including Pasadena, South Pasadena, Alhambra, San Marino, Arcadia, Sierra Madre, Altadena, Temple City, Monrovia and beyond.
The event is part of Village Connections, a series hosted by Pasadena Village. The nonprofit supports older adults who wish to remain in their homes.
Attendees will learn how to safeguard personal information and finances. They can share experiences with other adults over coffee and flan.
The workshop runs from 2 to 3 p.m. Coffee and tea will be available starting at 2 p.m.
