Warm, dry conditions will hold through midweek in Pasadena before cooler temperatures and deeper marine layer clouds arrive this weekend, forecasters said Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard reported highs near 88 degrees Wednesday and Thursday, with gradual cooling into the upper 70s by Sunday. Morning fog and low clouds will be common, clearing slowly each day.

Wednesday will  begin with patchy fog before 11:00 a.m., followed by sunny skies and a high near 88 degrees. Winds will be light, shifting southwest at about 5 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday is expected to mirror Wednesday, with fog in the morning, clearing skies, and highs near 88 degrees. Winds will remain light, turning south-southwest in the afternoon.

By Friday, highs will ease to 86 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

Forecasters said the weekend will bring a noticeable cooldown. Saturday’s high will reach about 81 degrees, while Sunday will top out near 78 degrees. Overnight lows will settle in the mid-50s.

No rain is forecast for Pasadena. Fog and low clouds will be the primary moisture-related impacts, especially in valley and foothill areas.

Winds in Pasadena will remain calm overnight and light during the day, generally around 5 mph. The cooling trend is expected to continue through Sunday, with temperatures 2 to 4 degrees below normal. Early next week, highs will rebound into the upper 70s and low 80s as onshore flow relaxes.

The National Weather Service said Monday and Tuesday will bring earlier clearing of morning clouds and gradual warming, with highs near 79 degrees Monday and 82 degrees Tuesday.
