A kitchen fire in a multi-family dwelling in the 100 block of North Parkwood Avenue Monday evening is under investigation.
Firefighters arrived shortly after the 8:21 p.m. call to find heavy smoke pouring from windows of a three-story apartment building.
The fire was knocked down and controlled in 13 minutes, according to city spokesperson Lisa Derderian
It was determined to have started in the kitchen area on the first floor of a two-story unit in the building.
Firefighters prevented the spread of the blaze to nearby units, she said.
After the smoke was ventilated and the building deemed safe to return, all occupants were permitted to return, according to Derderian.
There were no injuries reported.
