All Pasadena Public Library branches will be closed Sunday and Monday, January 18–19, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

The closure affects all 10 operating branch libraries across the city: Allendale Library (1130 South. Marengo Avenue), Hastings Branch Library (3325 EastOrange Grove Boulevard.), Hill Avenue Branch Library (55 South Hill Avenue), Jefferson Branch Library (1500 Villa Street), La Pintoresca Branch Library (1355 North Raymond Avenue), Lamanda Park Branch Library (140 South Altadena Drive), Linda Vista Branch Library (1281 Bryant Street), San Rafael Branch Library (1240 Nithsdale Road.), Santa Catalina Branch Library (999 East Washington Boulevard.), and Villa Parke Branch Library (363 East Villa Street).

The Central Library remains temporarily closed for earthquake retrofit.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a federal holiday observed on the third Monday in January, honors the civil rights leader’s legacy. The 2026 observance marks the 40th anniversary of the holiday’s first official recognition in 1986.

While physical branches are closed, library patrons can access digital resources around the clock, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, and online databases, through the library website.

Regular hours resume Tuesday, January 20.
