The Pasadena Public Library has launched “Healing Through the Arts,” a specialized program offering complimentary, guided therapeutic art sessions designed for families affected by the Eaton Fire. The initiative partners with Maple Counseling to provide weekly support sessions on July 11, 18, 25, and August 1.

The program specifically targets families affected by the recent Eaton Fire, offering a structured approach to healing through creative expression. Sessions welcome participants of all ages, highlighting the program’s family-centered design.

“Healing Through the Arts” will run on July 11, 18, 25, and August 1 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Santa Catalina Branch, 999 East Washington Boulevard. The four-week series provides consistent weekly support during the recovery period following the fire.

The Pasadena Public Library serves as the primary organizer for the initiative, working in partnership with Maple Counseling to deliver the therapeutic programming. The collaboration focuses specifically on fire recovery support through guided art activities. All sessions are complimentary, removing financial barriers for families seeking support during their recovery process. The program’s all-ages approach ensures entire families can participate together in the healing activities.

The Santa Catalina Branch will host all sessions, providing a familiar community location for participants. The branch serves as an accessible venue for families throughout the Pasadena area. Participants requiring accessibility accommodations should contact the library at (626) 744-7311 or CSC@cityofpasadena.net. The program organizers request at least 72 hours advance notice to help ensure availability of needed accommodations.

The therapeutic art sessions represent a targeted community response to the Eaton Fire’s impact on local families. The program offers structured support through creative expression during the ongoing recovery period.

The initiative demonstrates the library’s commitment to serving community members during crisis periods, partnering with mental health professionals to provide specialized support services.
