Pasadena Media Appoints First-Ever Director of Community Engagement

Pasadena Media has appointed Jasiri Jenkins-Glenn as its Director of Community Engagement. The newly established position aims to foster partnerships and enhance public programs. Jenkins-Glenn is tasked with broadening and enriching the organization’s community outreach by identifying, engaging, and amplifying voices that have yet to be discovered.

According to Pasadena Media, Jenkins-Glenn is well suited for her role. She is equipped with expertise in social media management, content planning, web development, and online image relations. She has held management and operational positions at esteemed institutions such as the San Francisco and Palm Springs International Film Festivals, the Golden State Warriors, and Facebook. Additionally, she has served on the Santa Cruz Volunteer Advisory Board and created content for Santa Cruz County Community Television.

Jenkins-Glenn’s passion for communication theory blossomed during her early studies in communication studies. She furthered her education at San Jose State University, where she participated in the Global Leadership Program, focusing on strategic and ethical communication for the global public.

Jenkins-Glenn’s commitment to her community is evident through her current roles as a Private School Village (PSV) Parent Ambassador at Westridge School for Girls in Pasadena, manager of a faith-based audio and video content community on social media, and producer of “Jasiriously Speaking,” a show highlighting the entrepreneurial journeys of individuals in the Greater Los Angeles Area.

George Falardeau, Executive Director CEO, expressed excitement about Jenkins-Glenn’s addition to the team, emphasizing her dynamic skill set and their shared vision for increased community engagement. Pasadena Media aims to fulfill its mission of providing media “for the people, by the people.”

Pasadena Media encourages feedback from the community and invites individuals to reach out to Jenkins-Glenn with ideas, questions, or concerns regarding the Community Engagement team’s service.

Pasadena Media, a non-profit operating company of the City of Pasadena, manages the community media center. It offers hands-on video production experience, job skills training, and operates four local PEG cable television channels. The organization’s programming caters to a diverse range of interests and is produced by community members.
