Published on Thursday, July 13, 2023 | 6:27 am

As temperatures continue to climb and the weekend forecast predicting a scorcher with triple-digit heat, Pasadena residents, particularly seniors and vulnerable populations, are being reminded of the importance of staying cool to prevent heat-related illnesses.

The City of Pasadena issued a statement  Wednesday listing city cooling centers. For up-to-date information, residents should call each location before heading to them.

COOLING CENTER

The Jackie Robinson Community Center, 1020 N. Fair Oaks Ave., is the only pre-designated Cooling Center in the City of Pasadena and is ready to be open if there is a request from the County to activate. Jackie Robinson Community Center will be open from Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m, Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday- Sunday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information, please call (626) 744-7300.
