Pasadena Panel to Explain How Residents Can Shape Local Climate Decisions

Speakers will discuss water, housing, transit and clean energy choices made at the local level

A panel on how Pasadena residents can take part in local decisions about water, housing, transit, clean energy and climate resilience is set for Wednesday, Sept. 16, at FoundrSpace Coworking in Pasadena.

Pasadena Climate Commons organized the discussion, which Innovate Pasadena is presenting.

The speakers are Sandy Krasner, group leader of the Pasadena-Foothills chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby; Cynthia Cannady, chairperson of the Pasadena 100 Coalition; and Councilmember Jason Lyon, who represents District 7.

According to the organizer’s event description, Krasner recently retired from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and is helping Eaton Fire survivors rebuild with all-electric homes. The description says Cannady’s coalition works to move Pasadena to 100% carbon-free electricity by 2030, and that Lyon previously chaired the Pasadena Planning Commission.

The organizer’s description says the panel will cover how local climate decisions are made, why civic engagement can matter more than individual lifestyle changes, and how residents can take part in public meetings and comment periods.

Registration is required to attend.

Wednesday, Sept. 16, 6 to 7 p.m. FoundrSpace Coworking, 87 N. Raymond Ave., Pasadena. For more visit https://luma.com/vw9dajw9.
