Pasadena Police Chief to Speak at Annual Breakfast Fundraiser

Pasadena Police Chief Gene Harris will share his goals and accomplishments for the Pasadena Police Department at the Annual Chief’s Breakfast fundraiser on Oct. 19, hosted by the Pasadena Police Foundation.

The fundraising event, which will be held from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.  in the Sofia Ballroom at NOOR Restaurant in Pasadena, is intended to give residents, members of business, non-profit community, and friends an opportunity to meet with Police Chief Harris and hear about the current goals and accomplishments of the Pasadena Police Department. 

The Annual Breakfast is also an opportunity to see first-hand how the Foundation fulfills its mission to support the planning, development, and implementation of programs and activities of the Police Department.

Last year, the foundation raised money to fund multiple youth-based programs and purchase laptops for graduating high school seniors. 

“This year we are raising funds to support our various youth programs including the Kids Safety Academy, and the Explorer Program, the new Wellness Program, and Canine Unit,” the Foundation said in a letter announcing the event. “Funds from this year’s fund raiser will support these programs and scholarships for Camp Pasadena which provides an environment for youth and young adults to work with officers, build life skills and self-reliance, and the possibility of a police career.” 

The Pasadena Police Explorer program is for youth ages 14-21 thinking of a career in law enforcement. Currently, the program has over 40 young people who are active in civic engagement, public service, and leadership roles within the community.

Community members can volunteer to become an early sponsor of the Annual Breakfast. As a sponsor, you will receive recognition in the event program, and preferred seating at the breakfast. 

Sponsorship levels include Chief Foundation Sponsor, costing $5,000 which includes a VIP table for eight guests; Commander Foundation Sponsor, at $2,500 including four VIP seats, and Lieutenant Foundation Sponsor, at $1,000 which includes two VIP seats.
