Following a reciting of the “Police Officer’s Pledge” by Corporal Elgin Lee, each cadet stepped on stage to receive his badge, which was pinned on them by a wife or parent.
“I wish I was one of them,” Pasadena Police Chief Gene Harris said proudly, following the ceremony. “They are embarking on a career during the most challenging time in law enforcement, and they’re much smarter than we were when I first came on. I’m hoping that they continue to have that quality, and that’s what the Pasadena Police Department will do for them.”
Officer Michael Bentley was born and raised in Azusa. His mother, Robin Evans, is a dispatcher for the Pasadena Police Department. Bentley was always interested in law enforcement, and he participated in the Pasadena Police Explorer Program as a teenager. He earned his associate degree in Administration of Justice from Citrus College and his bachelor’s degree in Criminology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
Officer Sergio Galindo was born in Los Angeles. in 1988. He grew up in Echo Park and North Hollywood. Galindo graduated from John H. Francis Polytechnic High School in 2006. After high school, he attended Los Angeles Mission College, where he earned an associate degree in 2020. In 2022, he was married. Galindo was also hired by the Pasadena Police Department in 2022.
Officer Enrique Andres Delgado was born in Los Angeles County. He was raised in Culver City. Delgado participated in baseball and football throughout his school years. He also participated in the Culver City Police Explorer program, where he realized he wanted to become a law enforcement officer. In 2018, Delgado enlisted in the Marine Corps as an Ordnance Technician. He was honorably discharged in 2021 and subsequently hired by the Pasadena Police Department.
Officer Jonathan Bombardier was born and raised in Pomona. His parents instilled a strong work ethic in him, and he was a good student. Bombardier attended Damien High School in La Verne. After high school, he enrolled in the University of Redlands, but left to work for his parent’s roofing company. After working for a few years, Bombardier decided to pursue a career in law enforcement. He earned an associate degree in Criminal Justice from Citrus College. In 2019, he was hired by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Officer Marcus Morgan was raised in Ontario, California. Morgan was involved in sports throughout his life and always stayed active. Throughout high school, Morgan focused on football. Unfortunately, he broke his leg during his junior year which ended his dream to play Division 1 football. However, he kept his focus on academics. Following graduation, he pursued his AA degree in criminal justice from Long Beach City College. He then worked for The Department of Homeland Security. Morgan later transferred to the Department of the Navy where he became a Federal Police Officer. In 2020, Morgan married and started a family. His badge was pinned by his mother, Brandi Morgan.
Following the official swearing-in, Chief Harris added, “We’re going to motivate them to be the best they can be, and as you can tell by the people who came to support them today, they’ve got support from inside and outside the organization. They’re ready to start serving the City of Pasadena.”
