The Pasadena Police Department launched its annual Pink Patch Project Campaign on Sept. 17 to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
The initiative is part of a movement among law enforcement agencies across the country. Officers will wear pink patches throughout October to show support for the cause.
“This campaign is part of a broader national movement that unites law enforcement agencies in the fight against breast cancer – one patch at a time,” the Police Department said in a statement. “We invite all residents, families, and local businesses to join us in showing solidarity, sharing stories, and making a meaningful impact.”
Official fundraising begins Wednesday, Oct. 1, and continues through the month. The department has planned two community events to engage residents and local businesses.
The campaign kicks off with “Coffee with a Cop: Pink Edition” on Oct. 1 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Starbucks, 300 E. Colorado Blvd. Residents can meet officers and purchase commemorative pink patches and merchandise.
A second fundraiser, “Dine for a Cause,” takes place Oct. 16 at California Pizza Kitchen, 99 N. Los Robles Ave. A portion of the day’s proceeds will benefit breast cancer research.
The department encourages residents to attend events and purchase Pink Patch merchandise from the department. Community members can also help by encouraging others to participate and spread awareness.
The Pink Patch Project aims to unite communities in supporting breast cancer research through local law enforcement partnerships.
