The May 26 event, presided over by Chief Eugene Harris and command staff, follows a November 2025 ceremony that recognized 21 promotions, according to the City Manager’s Weekly Newsletter. The six new officers bring total sworn personnel additions to 22 since 2025, the department stated.
The ceremony took place at Pasadena City Hall, 100 N. Garfield Ave.
The department did not release the names or new ranks of the 18 promoted individuals or the six new hires in its announcement. The press release described the ceremony as recognizing the hard work, leadership, and commitment to service of department members, and extended appreciation to the families and loved ones of those honored.
Harris, who took command of the department in January 2023, has overseen nearly 40 promotions across the two ceremonies in roughly six months. The department is staffed by more than 400 personnel, according to its website. Recruitment and retention are listed among the department’s FY 2026 priorities, according to the city’s budget documents.
The ceremony came three weeks after the department’s 53rd Annual Police & Community Awards Ceremony on May 6, which recognized more than 100 personnel for their response to the Eaton Fire, according to the City Manager’s Weekly Newsletter.
