Pasadena Police to Take Public Questions Thursday on Drone Expansion, Explosive Breaching Requests

The Pasadena Police Department takes public questions Thursday evening on an annual military equipment report that lists the city’s arsenal and inventory and describes how the equipment was deployed from June 2025 to June 2026.

The hour-long session is required by California Assembly Bill 481. The City Council must approve each addition to the Military Equipment Use Policy, and it uses the report each year in deciding whether to renew the department’s existing authorizations.

The report records that chemical agents, PepperBall and 40mm impact munitions were not deployed operationally during the year.

The three Bell OH-58 helicopters accounted for $410,067 of $473,614 in total spending and for all seven complaints received, all of them about noise.

The Annual Military Equipment Report Community Engagement Meeting takes place 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Washington Park Community House, 700 E. Washington Blvd.
