The Pasadena Public Library brought summer to a colorful close on August 2 with its End of Summer Bash at Jefferson Branch Library.

Nearly 500 children and adults gathered to celebrate the conclusion of the seven-week Summer Reading program, enjoying a diverse array of cultural and creative activities.

Highlights of the event included a captivating hula performance by Halau Hula Moani ‘a ‘ala Anuhea where attendees learned about traditional and modern-day hula, as well as the musical instruments used in the performances.

The 9th Annual LEGO Showcase provided another exciting dimension to the celebration, with contest participants presenting their builds and enhancing their public speaking skills.

The library’s Design Your LEGO Contest added an extra layer of excitement, with winners announced on August 5.

Participants competed across four age categories: family, ages 6-8, ages 9-12, and teens.

Prizes included People’s Choice, first, second, and third place awards in each category.

Interested community members can view the winning designs on the library’s Flickr page.

Throughout the event, interactive games and library services were available, ensuring a personalized experience for all attendees.

The Collaborative Puzzle Mural unveiling added a final touch of community spirit to the bash, marking a successful conclusion to the summer reading program.
