The Pasadena Public Library is offering free tutoring this summer for children in kindergarten through grade six through its Homework Help Partners program, running from June to August.
Volunteer tutors assist students with subject-specific questions in math, language arts, reading and science.

Students receive customized support, creating an individually focused learning opportunity to help them thrive.

Tutoring is available both in person and online, and families must register through a digital interest form.

Participation is based on volunteer availability, and library staff follow up to confirm matches and arrange times and locations.

In-person homework help sessions are hosted at two branches: Villa Parke Branch 363 East Villa Street offers tutoring Monday through Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Jefferson Branch 1500 East Villa Street operates Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

A meal program, “Lunch @ the Library,” is scheduled during many tutoring hours at both locations.

Online tutoring is provided via the HelpNow platform, offering subject-specific support in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese and Tagalog.

The service ensures broader accessibility for students who prefer or require remote assistance.

The @pasadenalibrary is providing invaluable homework help for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade. Students can receive in-person assistance with math, science, language arts and reading from qualified volunteers.

“We aim to support students of all ages with an array of free resources to invest in community success,” a library official stated.

Tim McDonald, director of libraries and information services, reflected on his own experience with library programs: “I grew up visiting my local library, and it was such a valuable asset that helped me learn, grow and discover.”
