The Rotary Club of Pasadena has opened the application for its annual Global Grant Scholarship of $31,000 for students pursuing master’s or doctoral degrees at qualified foreign universities with active Rotary chapters.
The scholarship, jointly funded by Rotary International, District 5300 and the Rotary Club of Pasadena, targets graduate students committed to specific humanitarian focus areas. Eligible candidates must demonstrate their dedication to fields including peacebuilding, disease prevention, water and sanitation, maternal health, education, community development, or environmental protection.
Successful applicants must showcase proven leadership skills with relevant future applications, documented academic or vocational success, and demonstrated commitment to community service.
The selection committee seeks candidates with well-defined goals, concrete ideas for field advocacy, and objectives that align with Rotary International’s broader mission.
Candidates can apply through the club’s online database system at Global Grants Scholarship, the Pasadena Rotary website, pasadenarotary.com, or by contacting program coordinator Fred Findley at ffindley@pacbell.net.
The selection process begins with the Pasadena committee interviewing and recommending candidates from October through January for District consideration.
In February, District 5300’s Global Grant Scholarship Committee may recommend selected candidates for further review by International Rotary following additional interviews.
Final approval from Rotary International is expected in May, with the chosen scholarship recipient receiving notification in June following comprehensive review.
